Murtala’s background span over 16+ years of experience in roles entailing management, Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, Spend Management, and Business Promotion. Murtala has worked across several industries including Public Sector, Private Sector, Manufacturing, Aviation, Technology, and Mining. In his early career, Murtala began at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s Procurement Department in Ghana as a Procurement officer, then he migrated to the United States and held several other key roles in Aviation where he managed over 56+ airplanes and successfully participated in the financial restructuring and budget optimization process of Frontier Airline’s transition from a traditional airline, to a new, ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) model and at the same period managed a portfolio of over $900M Assets, negotiating complex contracts with Airbus, Boeing, GE, Honeywell, and Lufthansa among others. He proceeded to work for Arrow Electronics Inc, a global Fortune 500 company with over $29B annual revenue as a Product Asset Manager in charge of an asset portfolio of over 25 global suppliers with a spend of over $2.2B. Murtala currently works for Orica Inc, a leading Global Explosives Manufacturer as a Commodity Leader in charge of Indirect spending and Capital Expenditure in the North America Region, overseeing Canada, Mexico, and the United States. In addition to his current role, Murtala travels back and forth to Ghana in his quest to help elevate the strategic vision of R&P Oil with a role as the Director-International Business Development.

Murtala holds an MBA from the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business in the U.S.A, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain from the University of Education, Ghana, a Certificate in International Trade from the Denver World Trade Centre with a focus in Global Supply Chain, and a Member of the Institute for Supply Chain Managers Denver chapter while serving as a Director for education.
